Safety
Our Record and
Recognition
We were awarded the
2010 Construction and Safety Excellence Award presented by
Associated General Contractors of Tennessee. The purpose of the
CSEA is to recognize those construction companies who excel at
safety performance.
Rock City has not
been cited for any OSHA/TOSHA violations in the past seven years and
maintains a good working relationship with TOSHA.
Our Policy
Our employees are
our greatest asset; safety is a part of our core values and is not
something we just talk about doing. Safety is every
employee’s job; all staff members are provided the resources
necessary to perform their work safely.
All RCC employees
and the employees of trade contractors and suppliers are required to
comply with the Rock City Construction Co., Inc. Safety Program, as
well as all local, state and federal safety regulations. The
Corporate Safety Program has been established to coordinate all
available means of eliminating or controlling hazards and risks
associated with the construction industry. Our goal is to educate
our employees to recognize these hazards, avoid risks and therefore
reduce incidents. We recognize that the effectiveness of our safety
program requires vigorous support and cooperation of management,
field supervisors and employees.
Rock City
Construction Co., Inc. is a Tennessee Drug-Free Workplace.
Training and
Resources
All superintendents
and management staff have completed OSHA 30 hour training, annual
CPR training, and bi-annual first aid training. Additionally, all
field personnel receive annual safety training and weekly safety
meetings are conducted at each job site.
RCC employs a
safety consultant, Associated Management Consultants. AMC conducts
training, weekly and/or monthly inspections of our job sites and
works closely with field superintendents to identify and mitigate
any potential safety issues. We also utilize the safety expertise
and resources of our local chapter of Associated General
Contractors.
