ROCK CITY CONSTRUCTION SELECTED AS CONSTRUCTION MANAGER FOR THE NEW WILLIAMSON COUNTY MAIN PUBLIC LIBRARY
ROCK CITY CONSTRUCTION has been selected to serve as Construction Manager for the new Williamson County Main Public Library in Franklin, TN. The Williamson County Library Project Team received twelve construction management proposals, and conducted interviews with five finalists before selecting Rock City Construction Company, Inc. Everton, Oglesby, & Askew will be the architectural firm on the project. The new library is currently in the preliminary design phase, and is planned to be built at the Battle Ground Academy site on Columbia Ave. in Franklin. We are grateful that the Williamson County Library Project Team has placed their confidence in Rock City Construction, and we look forward to being a part of the construction team. Learn more about this project by visiting the Williamson County Public Library's New Main Library Building Program website, or click the logo below to visit the library's home page and follow the links to the story. Rock City has a long history of library construction in Middle Tennessee, starting with FISK LIBRARY in Nashville. Part of Fisk University, Fisk Library was constructed in 1931, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1953, Rock City built the TENNESSEE STATE LIBRARY & ARCHIVES, across from the Tennessee State Capitol building. This library was constructed as a memorial to honor Tennessee’s World War II veterans. Thirty-five years later, Rock City performed an ADDITION & RENOVATION to this same state library building in 1988. Here in Williamson County, in 1986, Rock City managed the construction of the THE BRENTWOOD CENTER FOR THE ARTS, (the old Brentwood Library, located in Maryland Farms, Brentwood TN). More recently, Rock City performed trade package work on the NEW BRENTWOOD LIBRARY (on Concord Road) in 1998. Rock City Construction looks ahead to continuing this tradition of library construction by serving as construction manager on the soon to be built WILLIAMSON COUNTY MAIN PUBLIC LIBRARY.
