A.B. CLEMMONS REMEMBERED: A.B. Clemmons, a long-time field superintendent and dedicated employee of Rock City Construction Company, passed away in November of 2000. A.B. hired-on with Rock City in the spring of 1961, when he began his career as a laborer. He then worked as an apprentice, became a carpenter, and was promoted to foreman. In 1970, A.B. became a field superintendent for Rock City, and completed an addition to Williamson County Hospital here in Franklin. Other projects that A.B. completed include an addition to Lewisburg Community Hospital, the Williamson County Jail, and the Franklin Women's Clinic. In the mid-90’s, one of the last projects A.B. worked on was The Bone and Joint Clinic in Franklin, TN. The owners of the Bone & Joint Clinic appreciated A.B.’s work so much that they presented him with a shotgun shortly after project completion. Hunting was a favorite pastime of A.B’s. Although
he endured some unfortunate health problems later in his life, A.B.
maintained a positive attitude. He took pride in the work he performed through out many years
of service to Rock City. While
we have many memories of A.B., he is best remembered for his knowledge,
skill, professionalism, hard work, and persistence.
We have been blessed to have known and worked with this talented man.
