OFFICE COMPLETED: Rock
City
Construction
Co.,
Inc. recently completed construction of the
new three-story Tyvek® Office Building Project at the DuPont
Nonwovens Tyvek® Spruance Plant in Richmond, Virginia.
The Rock City Project Team consisted of Superintendent Foster Thomas,
Assistant Superintendent Steve Page, Safety Superintendent Charlie Driggers,
and Project Manager Fred Reynolds. Rock
City’s Safety Director, Bryan Fitzpatrick, also played a major role as
Site Safety Superintendent on several occasions. Rock City’s portion of the project involved over 60,000 man-hours of general contract work. The entire project was successfully accomplished without a recordable safety incident, and only two first-aid cases for the whole job. The entire field crew is to be congratulated on reaching this goal. DuPont Tyvek® Project representatives and Rock City Construction view the Tyvek® Office Building Project as a great achievement. Rock City Construction Co., Inc. has performed work
on numerous DuPont® construction projects over the years.
Some of this work dates back to the 1920’s, when the DuPont Plant
at Old Hickory in Nashville was undergoing expansion.
More recently, and in the last ten years, Rock City has completed a
variety of industrial construction projects at E.I. DuPont de Nemours &
Co. facilities in Nashville-TN, Chattanooga-TN, and Richmond-VA.
